Comparison of Kernel Equating and Kernel Local Equating in Item Response Theory Observed Score Equating

The present study aims to compare the Kernel equating and local methods in observed score equating. Functions error estimates regarding difference between raw equated scores by Stocking-Lord Haebara true-score were examined Item Response Theory Observed Score Equating. Therefore, 5, 10, 15 external anchor items used, obtained from two forms based on 2PL model. R (version 3.5.3.) programming software was used for IRT assumptions, item parameters, calibration, analyses. results revealed that yielded similar results. Moreover, if method is same, estimation errors decreased when number of increased. mean equation 5 lower than equating, while means 10 higher. As increased, decreased, lowest medium scale. can be related ability level individual’s distribution known.
